Las condiciones adversas, incluyendo el mal estado del campo o la existencia de barro, son a veces tan generalizadas, particularmente en los meses de invierno, que el Comité puede decidir conceder alivio mediante una Regla Local temporal para proteger el campo o para conseguir que el juego sea justo y agradable. Dicha Regla Local debería ser retirada tan pronto como las condiciones lo permitan.

Adverse conditions, including the poor condition of the course or the existence of mud, are sometimes so general, particularly during winter months that the Committee may decide to grant relief by temporary Local Rule either to protect the course or to promote fair and pleasant play. The Local Rule for “Preferred Lies” and “Winter Rules” should be withdrawn as soon as the conditions warrant. The recommended wording for such a Local Rule is contained in Appendix I, Part B of the Rules of Golf. It is not sufficient to simply say “preferred lies/winter rules” apply.
